Question:
Is there any requirement regarding the type of material a tefillin bag (or tallis bag) can be made from? Can leather be used and if so, does it matter if the leather came from a kosher or non-kosher animal (crocodile, snake etc.)?
Answer:
There are laws regarding the material that the tefillin and it’s straps must be made from, but the tefillin bag can be made of the leather of a non kosher animal.
Best Wishes
There is a slight implication that the bag should be made of leather, just it need not be from a kosher animal, and surely that was not the intention.
You are right, it can be made of any material.I was just referring to the persons question
