I bought chia seeds with an OU hechsher, and only after looking at it thought to ask if it should be checked. From what i can see and based on my limited knowledge, it seems “clean”.

Personally I am not at all familiar with chia seeds, but I consulted with the OU, and their representative said that they are clean and there is no need to check them.

An OU representative has said chia seeds are “clean, and don’t need to be checked.” However, I’ve seen posts to the contrary by consumers who have found worms or insects (it’s not clear which). Could the OU please investigate and let us know what to look for? Thank you.
