You are terming it as if it is merely a chumra, however there are many poskim that pasken this way, including Aruch Hashulchan 198-40, Gra”z 198c 40,43,44, Pischei Halacha pg. 330. The idea is that a woman that had a long onah, let’s say 34 days and then the next month she saw 27 days, according to the Bais Meir since she did not pass day 34 without seeing, she still has to be choshesh for it, and abstain from relations and make bediikos on those days.
