Did the events of Purim take place before or after the 2nd Beis Hamikdosh. Rashi following Seder Olam says Purim was first. Pirkei D’Rabbi Eliezer 49 says Achashveirosh was the last Persian king which would put Daryovesh and therefore the 2nd Beis Hamikdosh before the events of Purim.
Answer:
Purim technically took place in the middle of it, and there were two Daryavesh. See Sefer Ezra that Koresh who was also called Daryavesh, originally gave permission to build the Second Bais Hamikdash, and this took place before Achashveirosh. However there were people that interfered, and the building had to stop, and stated that way throughout the kingdom of Achashveirosh, until Daryovesh came along and allowed them to continue building it.
