Breaking the minyan to put on tefilin

Question:

There was a person in shul for Mincha and it is about five minutes before shkia. He is # 10. They are in the middle of davening Mincha, but if he leaves he is breaking the minyan. “Those who forsake Hashem will be destroyed.” All of a sudden, he remembered that he forgot to put on tefilin that day. Should he go home (which is a few minutes away) and take his tefillin and put them on? Or should he stay to avoid breaking the minyan?

Answer:

In this situation (if it really happened) and it is not possible to be mekayem both, he should go and put on his tefillin, because the curse doesn’t apply when someone is an onus.
