Asking parents to buy something for you.

Question:

I remember that due to Kibud Av ve Am, we are not allowed to ask parents to buy something for us.

However, if I know for sure, that the parent would be very happy to buy the needed item for me, because it will give them the feeling, that they are doing something for me and helping me, which they very much love to do, is it still forbidden?

Answer:

I am not familiar with this idea that a child is not allowed to ask a parent for a favor. It would be correct for a child not to burden the parent, and to ask them in a respectful, not demanding way, but if it something that the parent would want to do, it would seem to be permitted without an issue.

Best wishes
