Question:
If on shabbos a goy tripped on the crockpot cord and unplugged it and on his own plugged it back in - may the chulent be eaten on shabbos?
Any difference in how cooked the item is?
Answer:
It is considered as if the gentile is doing the action for himself- in order to correct what he did- and it is permitted to benefit from it. This is also because you didn't ask him to do it for yourself, and he did it on his own.
Best wishes
