Answer:
The Shulchan Aruch O:CH 90-5 says that preferably we should not daven in outside in a place that is open such as in a field, because when we daven in a place that is enclosed, we are more prone to have a feeling of fear of Heaven. This is not referring specifically to mincha, but to all tefillos, (although practically it happens to be more applicable to mincha, because that is the time of day that people are traveling around). If someone is in such a situation he should try to find a building, or at least a place underneath some trees, or aplace that enclosed with a fence to daven,
