Pesach

Question:

Dear Rabbi I usually have some Mexican housekeepers come and help me to deep clean for Pesach, but with the all the goings on in the world right now, and the mandate from our dignitaries (Mayor and Governor) about staying home, social distancing and the like, is it wise to have them come at all? I could ask them if they are well to make sure, but I want to be wise and make sure that I and my household stay safe and also do the right thing. It looks like I will be staying home for Pesach and having the seders here. I always really need help with my cleaning before Pesach and the ladies who come to help work with my supervision while I am doing my work preparing for them and working along with them, we all kind of work together. I guess I could do my best doing it myself but I depend on help to truly clean as I think it should be for Pesach. I don’t have all the cleaning materials that I need and my vacuum is broken. However, I could try to buy one online and have it shipped in time for Pesach. I really don’t know what I should do.
Thank you so much Rabbi for your help and kindness

Answer:

Your are asking an important question, but this question really has to be addressed to your doctor, because it might depend on your age and medical medical condition, just how cautious and careful you have to be. For a healthy young person, if the workers keep a distance from the people in the house, it might be alright, but for an older person it might not. Therefore speak to you  doctor and follow his advice.

Best wishes for a healthy, safe and happy Pesach .
