mai paros gebrokts

Question:

I believe that my minhag is to eat gebrokts with may payros, does that make sense?
Is Tomato sauce even considered a liquid
Is tomato sauce considered may paros li’inyan gebrokts
How about store bought chrain that has vinegar
How about home made chrain that has minimal amount of vineger

Answer:

The minhag that you are quoting is brought in Shulchan Aruch Horav (Teshuvos -6). There is an idea that mei peyros is not machmitz, therefore since there is no issue of it making something chometz that the chumra of not eating gerokt won’t apply. However the Shulchan Aruch says  162-1,2 says that if the mei peiros are mixed with water, even if it is only a little bit, that they are machmitz even quicker the regular water, therefore if the mei peiros wee mixed with water, then this idea would not apply . Getting to your question, vinegar contains water, and my so does tomato sauce, especially since the tomatoes are cooked, therefore this idea wouldn’t apply to these products.
