weekly parsha

Question:

Thank you. Please help. About koshering and ovens and pottery. What does more details about that i mean hidden meaning. How oven looked like that times and pottery? Why do we have to break pottery or and ovens. But today we can make oven kosher and that time we had to break in accordance to weekly parsha

Answer:

What the Torah is telling us here is that pottery is not capable of expelling it’s ritual impurities, therefore it will not help to place it into a ritual bath ( mikva), and thge only thing that will help it, is if it is broken and remade. Our ovens nowadays are made of metal, additionally the laws of ritual impurity don’t really apply nowadays since we are all ritually impure because we have all come in contact (or been in a building with a dead body.)

Best wishes
