Kriyas Shema Al Hamita

Question:

I have had a hard time remembering Kriyas Shema al Hamita and have basically not said it in years. I want to start saying it but often fall asleep. How much time before going to bed can I say it? What about the bracha of Hamapil? Also, how does it work regarding marital intimacy?

Answer:

You can say it before going to your room to go to sleep, and if that is too hard then you can even say it earlier in the evening, because the main idea of the bracha is on this that H-shem created sleep. Regarding intimacy, it should be said afterwards, after washing your hands, and if there is someone that isn’t dress properly, then just turn your body the facing the other way.

Best wishes
