Giving food to orchim

Question:

I am living now separate from my parents due to corona concerns. My parents bring me food for me to eat. Is it permitted for me to invite bachurim to my dira and share the food with them? My parents would not approve (they are not frum), but perhaps we can say that once the food was given to me (as a matana), it belongs to me and I can do whatever I want.

Answer:

If your parents give you something and they want it used for a specific purpose you should not use it for something else.
