Question:
Hello,
If I recently cooked meat in the oven, and then immediately afterward wanted to cook or bake a pareve item, may I use a dairy pan or sheet to place the pareve food? Do I have to heat the oven to a higher temperature and wait 15 minutes before doing this?
Thank you.
Answer:
If the food will be covered it is permitted, however you shouldn’t put the pan directly on the fleishig grate. If it will be uncovered, there are different opinions regarding this. According to those who are lenient it is permitted. According to the poskim that are stringent about this, the oven would have to cleaned and set to the highest temperature, in order to kasher it out.
Best wishes
