faucet leak on Shabbat

Question:

B”H Thank you for your help. Is it ok to turn a toilet water supply (at the back of the toilet) on/off during Shabbat if there is a leak? I would imagine this is not different from a regular cold water tap (the toilet water supply does not have a temperature control of hot/cold, just one temperature and a round knob to turn left or right for water flowing and water stopped…) Wanted to make sure it’s ok to turn this on and off during Shabbat and Yom Tov if it should leak then…?Thank you. Shana tova.

Answer:

You are correct. It is permitted, since the faucet is attached to the toilet, and it meant to be opened and closed.

Best wishes
