Question:
A relative of mine had a playroom cabinet with a variety of draws, cupboards and open areas incorporated in it, designed by a yidishe interior designer. If I like it and want to a carpenter to make me the same, can I take down the measurments of it and design etc and get him to build me the same or do I have to pay the designer as well?
Answer:
Answer by Horav Yosef Fleishman.
It is ok because the designer doesn’t own the design and there is no copyright on it so you aren’t taking anything from him-it’s just an idea
