Does the glass plate in the microwave require toveling?

Question:

Does the glass plate in the microwave require toveling?

Answer:

In most circumstances it will not need tevila, because we almost always use a plate or bowl under the food. Since the tray doesn’t come into direct contact with the food it doesn’t need tevila. However in the rare instance that one usually puts the food (bread) directly on to the tray often, then it would need tevila with a beracha.
