Divrei Yamim- Torah?

Question:

Does studying Divrei Hayamim count as studying Torah? Is it considered to have kedusha? If so why?

Thank you so much

Answer:

I understand why you are asking this question, it appears on the surface that it is merely stories and a history book. however in fact Divrei Hayomim is considered torah as much as Tehillim and Sefer Shmuel is! The gemora Babba Basra 14b writes that Ezra the scribe is the one who wrote a large part of it. Not only does it have kedusha, but we will not keep a gemora on top of it, and if we have a pile of seforim we will place it on top of a mishnayos. The gemora is full of things that we learn from Divrei Hayomim. Nach is not merely stories, but full of life lessons and there are numerous halachos that we learn from Divrei Hayamim. Rashi throughout Nach compares the differences in wording between Divrei Hayamim and the opther parts of Nach to glean countless teachings and lessons.
Best wishes
