Question:
What is the halacha regarding eating and drinking during the seder after the first kos. Does one need to wait till shulchan aruch or may one eat/drink between the first kos and shulchan aruch?
Answer:
Regarding drinking, there is controversy about what is permitted to drink. Wine or other alcoholic beverages we don’t drink. Regarding other drinks that might be consider chamar medina, there is controversy, and it is preferable not do drink anything besides for water. If someone is weak, it is permitted to drink anything except for wine. Regarding eating if the person is weak it is permitted to eat something light such as a fruit.
