Question:
I am in mourning for my mother for the whole year am i allowed to go to my grandaughters graduation. also the same night my grandaughter is graduating i have yahrzeit for my daughter what is the halacha thank you
Answer:
You may go to the graduation as long as there isn’t music being played.
The restrictions of not having joy on a yahrtzeit only applies to the yahrtzeit of a parent, therefore attending the graduation will not be affected by the yahrtzeit.
Best wishes
