Question:
I have a baby at home with a non Jewish babysitter. What would I need to do to be able to stay in my house and not have a problem of yichud?
Answer:
The answer to your question really depends on the situation. For example, if there are neighbors that live in close proximity and would come in, that would help, but if you live in a more rural area it is more problematic to find a solution.
In general though, you can give a key to a neighbor and ask them to pop in so that it won't be yichud. It has to be realistic, because if you and the neighbor are not serious about it, it doesn't provide the needed hesitation to prevent something from happening.
Another option is if the door is kept slightly open, or at least unlocked (according to some poskim).
Best wishes
