Tzitzis size for a short bochur

Question:

Is there room to be lenient for an extremely short bar mitzvah bochur to wear a smaller begged for his tzitzis? It is extremely uncomfortable for him to wear the typical amah size and fold it over many times…

Answer:

He can make a bracha if the tzitzis are 18 inches by 18 inches, which is an amah according to R’ Chaim Naeh zt”l, and ¾ of an amah according to Chazon Ish.
Best wishes
