Eating from something that was’t toiveled

Question:

Hello, if people do not toivel and have a cutting board that is likely plastic (but not confirmed), would it be ok to eat a banana that is inside a bag that touched the cutting board?

Answer:

Hi,

It is permitted to eat the banana, in fact even if the banana touched the cutting board, we are allowed to eat the banana, after it was placed somewhere else. The halacha is that although we are commanded to tovel metal or glass utensils that come in contact with edible food, in retrospect, the food that touched the utensil, is still permitted to eat.

Best wishes
