Question:
I personally do whatever I can in order to become a better version of myself . I workout a lot , I study a lot and do everything in order to achieve my goals. I want to know if Judaism agrees with that and there is not anything bad doing them.
Answer:
Thank you for your question.
Judaism doesn’t have anything with you working out and taking care of your body in order to stay healthy. Judaism does have an issue when taking care of our body becomes the mainstay of our life and caring for the health of our soul is neglected. Judaism sees our physical body as a temporary covering that houses our soul, which has eternal existence. Care for our soul, which involves performance of the commandments, is therefore considered more important, and should not get neglected.
