Referring to the last question about planting a tree in front of a synagogue, https://dinonline.org/2021/08/09/planting-tree-near-or-in-front-of-the-synagogue/ In the comment of Devarim 16:21 of Lekach Tov; Ramban, says that whatever tree planted in the entrance of a house of worship is call of asherah, what does that mean?
Answer:
The house of worship that the Ramban is referring to are the houses of worship of the idol worshippers. This was their custom, to plant a tree in the front of their house of worship. Therefore, says the Ramban we are commanded not to plant any trees in the Har Habayis, the Temple Mount. This idea is also mentioned in Rashi, and this is also what the Lekach Tov is saying. There is no mention of this prohibition regarding a regular shul. See sources for a quote of the Lekach Tov.

וכן לשון הרמב”ם ס’ המצות לא תעשה י”ג “היא שנמנענו מלנטוע אילנות במקדש או אצל המזבח על דרך הנוי והיופי לכוין בזה עבודת האל יתעלה לפי לפי שכך היו עושין עובדי ע”ז שהיו נוטעין להם אילנות יפים ותאוה לעינים בבתי עבודתם והוא אמרו יתעלה לא תטע לך אשרה כל עץ אצל מזבח ה’ אלהיך והעובר על לאו זה הוא חייב מלקות וכבר נתבארו דיני מצוה זו במסכת תמיד ושם נאמר שהנטיעה אסורה במקדש (שופטים ושוטרים מדע הלכות ע”ז וחקות העכו”ם פ”ו).
