Raw fish Muktza

Question:

I’ve seen that the Aruch Hashulchin said that raw fish is muktza.
Am I correct in assuming due to the prevalence of sushi nowadays raw salmon and raw tuna would no longer be muktza?

Answer:

Thank you for your question.

You are bringing up a good point and in a certain sense you are right. Being that nowadays sushi is a very common food, therefore fish that is common to make into sushi would not be muktza. However this does not mean that all fish is not muktza, and even salmon and tuna, if it is not the correct quality salmon or tuna and it is not meant to make this kind of salmon into susi then that fish would bre muktza.

Best wishes
