My young son was recently hospitalized. While his condition wasn’t life threatening there was a real chance of non-reversible, permanent brain damage. BH he is home and fine! Should I bentch gomel for him? Should we make a Seudas HoiDaah?

B”H your son is better, and he should stay healthy until 120. The poskim say that a child that was sick or in danger does not say the bracha of hagomel, the reason being because the text is hagomel l’chayavim tovos”, and since a child is not a chayav, therefore children don’t say the bracha. Additionally, the parent also doesn’t say the bracha. You can make a seudas hoda’ah, to publicly express your thanks to Hashem for the yeshua that he provided for you.
