If a parent may have written a check on Shabbat (although they have previously said they don’t do business on Shabbat, so it is very likely that the check was not written on Shabbat), may the child deposit this check and use this money (would the money be considered benefitting from Shabbat desecration if it was written on Shabbat? I do not want to embarrass the parent by asking when it was written…and I do not want to assume based on the date of the check)

Answer:
You may use the check, and you do not have to ask your parents if it was written on Shabbos or not. We do not haveto a ssume that it was done in a prohibited fashion, unless we have specific reason to assume so.
