Shema after sunrise

Question:

Is saying Shema from sunrise to sof zman Kriat shema (Third hour) only bedievid? However, from Mishayokir till sunrise Lechahilla?

Answer:

Thank you for your question.

The zman for saying Kriyas Shema is from msheyakir until the end of the third hour of the day. There is a preference to say it slightly before the sun comes up, and to finish Kriyas Shema and starts Shemona Esrei exactly when the sun rises. Aside from this, regarding all mitzvos there is an inyan of “zrizim makdimin”, to do the mitzva as soon as possible, but it is not that befoe sunrise it is l’chatchila and afyter wards b’dieved.

Best wishes
