Question:
Hello and thank you,
I customarily give to my children’s rabbeim shaloch manos with a cash present inside.
My son’s rebbi is in aveilus, can I give him the shaloch manos? can I give it to “his family” even though I have never met his family and don’t feel any connection to his family. If I can’t give the shaloch manos can I give the cash present alone?
Thank you.
Answer:
Thank you for your question.
You may give the present and mishloach manos to the Rebbi even though he is in aveilus. The reason is because this present is consider more of a payment for the work that he has done with your son that as a friendly present.
Best wishes
