Can you buy a gift on chol ha-moed? in a situation where it’s time sensitive

Answer:

In general, if the gift has to be given r is the derech eretz to be given on chol hamoed or if you won’t be able to give the gift afterwards it is permitted

  1. would it be permitted if technically the gift could be given after but it would be appreciated less? for example you would be giving the gift after you went for a meal, rather than when you went. thank you
