I saw in your archive that women may be able to cut their hair during sefira for a concrete reason. My wife discovered she has head lice (caught from children). She is very distressed over this and very much wants to cut her hair, which is long and thick. I don’t know if it might help that it is after Lag b’Omer. Is there any way she can be allowed to do so? Thank you.

If she kept the first sefira, from after Pesach until Lag B’omer then she has no issue cutting her hair then. Even if you didn’t keep the first sefira she may cut her hair, as it is can be considered for medical purposes.
