Question:
If i go to shul before shkia,say at least one and a quarter hours befor,daven mincha and kabbolas shabbos,can i then come home and light candles ,ensuring that it is still before shkia?
I am a single man and worried about leaving the candles alight whenn i am not at home.

The reason why men may do melacha after lighting Shabbos candles, (although preferably they should stipulate specifically not to be mekabel Shabbos yet) in because they are being mekabel Shabbos in shul when they daven. Therefore to light after saying kabolas Shabbos is problematic, since it is already Shabbos for you, you can’t light the candles then.
I would suggest that you work something out so that you can light the candles in a safe way even when you aren’t home. For example, you could light with tea lights, on a metal tray with silver foil around it, so that there is no way the fire can spread. Alternatively, there are glass cases, that the candles can be placed in, in order to keep them safe.
