Dairy on Shavuos

Question:

Do we have to eat dairy on Shavuot?

Answer:

Hello,

Many people have the minhag to eat some dairy on Shevuos. This custom is brought in the Rema (Orach Chaim 494-3). It isn’t an obligation on the level of a Rabbinic enactment, however it is a widespread custom. Some people, eat a dairy meal, some people eat part of the meal dairy, and then change the bread, et, and eat the rest of the meal meat. Some people eat meat meals, but after Kiddush on Shevuos they eat dairy.

Best wishes
