During the week, Monday and Thursday, when calling the Yisrael to have an aliya, should the gabbai, after calling the individual by his hebrew name add “shlishi”? I have heard it is not necessary and one should refrain from doing so.

There are places that speciifically say and other places that are not makpid to say it.
I am not aware of any reason why one should specifically refrain from saying it. If you have a source for this, let me know.
