I saw in the Kitzur S”A that one can get a haircut and get married this Friday when it is both Erev Shabbos and Rosh Chodesh, even though one is keeping the first half of Sefiras HaOmer. 2 Questions:
1. Do Ashkenazim Pasken like that?
- Can one also listen to music as well?

- Although there is controversy about this, the Mishna Berura, Shulchan Aruch Horav, and Kitzur Shulchan Aruch all say that it is permitted.
- Music is not allowed. The reason why some poskim permit haircuts, is specifically since Rosh Chodesh is on Shabbos, and the haircut is being done for kavod of Shabbos, the double simcha of Shabbos and Rosh Chodesh permits it. Having a wedding on Friday is also permitted according to this because the main simcha will be during the meal, which will be at night. This is a specific heter for these things, it does not negate the day from being one of the sefira days. Therefore, since listening to music on Friday is not part of the simcha and kavod of Shabbos, it would not be permitted.

ג) קיצור שו”ע (סי’ ק”כ סעי’ ו’) – “אך כשחל ראש חדש אייר בשבת, דיש בו שתי קדושות, קדושת שבת וקדושת ראש חדש אז מתירין לישא וכן להסתפר בערב שבת”.
ד) מ”ב (סי’ תצ”ג ס”ק ה’) – “ואף להנוהגין איסור גם עד ר”ח אייר מ”מ אם חל ר”ח בשבת כיון שיש כאן תוספת שמחה שבת ור”ח יש להתיר להסתפר בע”ש מפני כבוד השבת וגם לישא אשה בו ביום כיון שעיקר הסעודה יהיה בשבת ור”ח”.
ה) קובץ הלכות (ספה”ע פרק ח’ סעי’ ט’) – “כשחל ראש חודש אייר בשבת, אפילו הנוהגים איסור מפסח עד ל”ג בעומר מותרים להסתפר בערב שבת לכבוד השבתי”.
