Question:
I heard somewhere that you don’t always have to say בורא נפשות on specificly avocado is this true and if so when does this apply?.
Answer:
Hello,
Avocado is no differant than any other fruit, which we would say בורא נפשות after eating it. There are, however, times when for various reasons we wouldn’t say a bracha achrona what we eat. For example if we didn’t eat a k’zayis בכדי אכילת פרס, (within 4-9 minutes), or if it was smeared on a cracker an it considered a tafel. However these halachos are not specific to avocado, rather they apply to everything that one eats.
