I am indigent widow who gets a food package every week from jewish charity. Many items I cannot eat because high salt. I told them not to send salami and other high salt items. They said they cannot custom make a food package, everyone gets the same. May I throw out items, baal tashchis as no one wants them.
Do I have to stop food package delivery?
In a generation where everything is desposable, and many people are throwing out lots of good, edible food, it is nice to get such a question. Practically, if indeed there is no one that you can give it to, or even a pet, etc. you may throw it out, and you don’t have to wait for it to get spoiled on its own.
You do not have to stop getting the packages.
