Question:
If the light in a bedroom was inadvertently left on during Shabbat or Chag and a non-Jew is not around to turn it off, and placing a sock or cloth on the bulb presents a fire hazard, what should one should the light prevent one from sleeping at night?
Answer:
Hello,
Figure out some other way to do it that won’t be a fire hazard. If you want you can try tying a black plastic bag, (with only one knot) very loosely around the bulb.
Best wishes
