Question:
- I was told that one should interrupt Alokei Nitzor in order to be sure to say the whole paragraph of kiddusha d'sidra with a minyan.
- Also, I was told that you cannot interrupt kiddusha d'sidra except for Amein y'hei sh'mei rabbah etc (as one would for birchos kriyas shema.) When I tried to look into it, I found no reliable source, what is the halacha, and what is the source?

- I am not aware of any sources that say that one interrupt Alokei nitzor in order to say the whole kidusha d’sidra, with a minyan, in fact one should not interrupt even to say kadosh of kidusha d’sidra. The Shulchan Aruch[1] writes that after saying (the first) yihiyu l’ratzon, one may only answer things that may be answered during the brachos of kriyas shema, such as amen yiehi shmei rabba, borchu, the posuk of kadosh and Baruch of kidusha, (not kidusha dsidra), etc. After[2] saying the second yihiyus l’ratzon you can say the whole kidusha dsidra.
- During kidusha d’sidra, is considered like learning, and you may answer to any amen and even to boruch hu u’baruch shemo. The Shulchan Aruch and poskim do not mention that there are any restrictions, as to what parts of davening may not be answered to. Understandably, one should not simply talk out mundane things in the middle, however answering to parts of davening are all permitted.
