Pearl barley after Pesach

Question:

I know that a certain bag of pre-Pesach Pearl barley wasn’t sold at all. Is Pearl barley (grisim, badatz, vacuum packed) washed at all before packing? In other words, might it have become chametz which is now chametz kept by jews over Pesach?

Answer:

Hello,

My understanding is that pearled barley is not processed in a way that makes it chometz, therefore it may be used after Pesach without a problem.

Best wishes
