Question:
I realized this morning that last night I had used a meat spoon to cook dairy mac and cheese. I have no idea if the spoon had been used for meat in the past 24 hours. Does it change the status of the dairy pot or the dairy bowl I used to eat the pasta? Also, would it affect the dairy sink which I had put the spoon in? ( I don't know if the spoon was hot when I put it in the sink)
Thanks!
Answer:
Hello,
The spoon needs to be kashered, but the macaroni and the pot are still kosher. This is because in retrospect, we say that the spoon was not used within the last 24 hours, and therefore it will not be able to make the macaroni, or the pot treif.
Best wishes
