3 weeks- whitening teeth

Question:

1. Can I whiten my teeth with at home whitening strips during the 3 weeks?
2. What clothing qualify to make a shehechiyanu? Can I purchase new shoes or Shabbos outfit and wear it during the FULL 3 weeks? (including 9 days)

Answer:

1. There is no problem with whitening one’s teeth during the three weeks.
2. It depends on how good you feel by having the new dress, and if you make a shechiyanu on it during the rest of the year. The minhag is not to make shehechiyanu on new shoes
