Question:
Hello,
I rented a city car for 5 hours. I forgot to check the car before starting to drive and I immediately felt that something doesn’t feel right. After I drove for a minute I stopped and checked - the right wheel was fully flat. I immediately notified them and then drove back the car to the same place from where I took it. I was in a rush and could not take another car from city car. They charged me for all the hours of the rental, for a new wheel, and tire. I emailed them that -
1. I know with certainty that I did not cause the flat tire - I have been driving a car more than 20 years and I know what it feels when a flat happens. This flat tire was there before I took the car.
2. I want the money back of the rental as I couldn’t use the car.
3. I later checked the car and the wheel was never changed. I wrote that I want to see the invoice of the tire and wheel change. I don’t trust them that the wheel or the tire was changed. Maybe they just patched the tire and not more.
4. I wrote that if I don’t hear back from there I’m going to dispute the full charge - I used an American credit card which allows me to dispute. I got an automated response that they will answer me within 7 business days - they did not
Can I dispute the charge?
Thank you so much.
You can respond in hebrew as I fully understand the language.
Answer:
Hello,
You can dispute the charge if you want. Disputing the charge doesn't mean that you aren't paying it. It means that you are disputing it. It might cause that you won't pay it, but at this point it is only disputing it.
Best wishes
