Question:
Dear Rabbi,
By kosher definition, I may think this story needs more attention.
I was circumcised on day 2 of life by a doctor. Later it seems the reform temple released a form that named me Shmuel Yehoshua.
Being proud also, I just had that nane embroidered in hebrew on my new tefillin bag.
The sense this morning asks if there is a halachaic requirement to change that name or add maybe a third name to my naming.
No certificate was issued by the rabbi who took a ceremonial drop of blood a few years ago but I did not realize there could be a halachaic question.
This might help me.
Answer:
Hello,
There is no need for you to change your name after giving the drop of blood. This is because, this is the name you are called by to the Torah, and if you didn’t specifically change it, it remains your name.
Best wishes
