Is there any issue to respectfully discard several orchid plants that seem to be not flowering/may have already died?
Does a potted plant have any halachic similarity to not chopping down a fruit tree?

If you are totally sure that it indeed died then it is permitted, but this might need someone who is an expert in this area.
A potted plant, that gives fruit, is similar to a tree and cannot be ruined. You can however not water it and when it is indeed dead, it can be thrown out.
