Diseased Fruit Tree

Question:

We have a 45 year old diseased pear tree that appears to have fire blight (bacterial infection) and is affecting other fruit trees. The branches leaves are turning brown and look like they have been burnt. We see only 2 pears on the tree. Can the tree be cut down without hesitation?

Answer:

Hello,

If it is ruining other trees it may be cut, however it is preferable that it should be done by a gentile.

Best wishes
