No, it isn’t gambling, because you ae actually buying the oil, silver or gold that you paid for, therefore it is a form of commerce. It happens to be extremely risky, being that it is highly leveraged, and most people have no interest in actually keeping what they bought, nevertheless it is still a purchase. Although taking a risk is called a “gamble”, taking risks in business is not considered gambling in the sense that one becomes, invalid as a witness etc. (He might become poor from the risks, but he is still a valid witness).
