Question:
If we want to plant all of the seven species of the land of Israel outside of Israel, what laws of Kilayim do we need to know?
Here’s what we have:
4 olive trees in 2” pots (currently), 2 muscadine grape vines in root balls (think grapefruit size roots), 1 date palm currently in a 5 gallon bucket, 1 pomegranate in a 3 gallon bucket, 1 fig tree (currently in ground, from a 3 gallon bucket).
We also have wheat and barley seed that we can plant in any of our 8×4 or 4×4 raised beds.
Answer:
Hello,
Being that you are outside of Israel, the only restriction you would have is regarding separating the wheat and barley from the grapevine. They should be planted at least 2 feet or 60cm. away from the stem of the grapevine, and you should also make sure that the vine doesn’t grow on top of the wheat and barley. There are no other restrictions.
Best wishes
