kiddush and motzei

Question:

First let me say that I am in a tough financial position. I will make a donation when my situation gets better.
My son and I daven in different shuls but we eat every meal in his place without a succa. If he makes a kiddush and motzei in his shul's succa do I also have to make kiddush and motzei for each meal in my shul's succa?

Answer:

Hello,

Thank you for at least wanting to make a donation.

Regarding your question, we are obligated to eat the meals during succot in a succah, and not just kiddush and hamotzei. This might sound funny, but is it possible for your son to make a succah, or at least eat the meals in the shul's succah?

Having said that, we wash our hands and eat two bread meals on Yom Tov, and each is preceded with Kiddush. His kiddush, washing, and hamitzei will help for him, but you also need to hear kiddush, wash and eat a bread meal. you can do it separately or together, whichever you prefer.
